Good keyboard & mouse pairing December 22, 2008

A good, solid product from Logitech. Nothing flashy but does the job well. One interesting incident that occured while setting up - I'd powered up the mouse that came with this set before I'd plugged in the receiver to the PC. I have two PC's close to each other at home, one of which already had a cordless keyboard and mouse (also from Logitech), the other was to get the new cordless set. As I brought the new mouse into range, it immediately hooked up with the existing PC's receiver, so much so that the mouse attached to that PC stopped working and ceded control to the new mouse! It took a few minutes to figure out what had happened, and when I connected the new receiver to the PC and pressed the Connect button with the new mouse close by, order was restored.
No complaints about either mouse or keyboard, thought the keyboard is a little small; it feels a little like typing on a large smartphone than on a PC keyboard. It's a matter of getting used to; I'd still buy another if I had to

For my vista32 bit laptop this keyboard and mouse combo works very well. I have it plugged into my USB port. Make sure you use the latest software from logitech.
Good and cheap December 20, 2008
This is a good basic unit. Good battery life. The Keyboard is good. The mouse is very basic it works fine, but has a cheap feel. This combo can't be beat for the price.

As I went through the reviews, I saw someone's review with the following:
"Worse, the layout is nonstandard: they've messed up the key cluster above the arrows (Insert/Delete/Home/End/etc.)"
This is my main problem with the keyboard. I have been using keyboards for many years and as someone who can type 100 words a minute, I needn't look at the keyboard. My pinky is conditioned to reach for the delete key immediately to the right of the enter key. But no, Logitech had to be different and did something totally different. This slows me down when I write emails and other things online. Other than that, the keyboard itself is fine.
The mouse absolutely sucks. It twitches and unlike a regular cord mouse, it selects chunks of text without me wishing to do so; and when I go online, it often copies and drags the URL of the website I'm at, or parts of the page, so that if I open a new tab on Firefox or Microsoft Explorer, it drags that URL to that new tab. I have never in all my years struggled with this when using a regular cord keyboard/mouse.
Don't get me wrong; I love the convenience of typing from my couch on to my large flat tv when I use the computer. But as I type this review from work, using a regular Dell keyboard and mouse, I experience none of the annoying characteristics this product has had. when I'm chatting and just type, it's ok but for those misplaced keys. The mouse is by far the worst part of this product.
I bought it because it was cheap and regret it already... I won't be shocked if I get so sick of this idiotic mouse that I go for a new wireless keyboard soon.
