 A MUST HAVE! December 14, 2008
This is a must have for any new parent. My daughter is 8 weeks old and already sleeps through the night thanks to the 5 S's. I even swaddle her for her daytime naps and turn the white noise on. To wake her all I have to do is turn the white noise off. Thank you Dr Karp for letting us all sleep! I will buy this for anyone who has a baby shower from now on.

My brother used these techniques with my neice when she arrived last year. Watching, I became annoyed at how tightly he swaddled her and how loudly he "shushed" in her ear. But her reaction was amazing! She suddenly became quiet with her eyes as big as saucers, completely calmed. My husband and I just purchased the DVD ourselves and watched it last night, and we could hardly believe how baby after baby after baby was calmed using the 5S's. Our baby is due next month, and we are anxious to use the techniques we learned in the video. I have three friends who are pregnant now, and I will be purchasing this DVD as shower gifts. This was a great find, and I highly recommend it!

As a childbirth educator, I am often asked for advice about caring for infants, particularly in the areas of calming techniques and strategies for getting babies to sleep. I consistently recommend this DVD (and even show it in my classes) because IT WORKS. It is fun to watch and easy to learn the techniques (Dads really seem to enjoy the DVD!!) The feedback that I have received from new parents who use the techniques demonstrated in the DVD has been consistently positive. This is the PERFECT baby shower gift!!!!

Knowing the information in this DVD and the book of the same title is like cheating at being a new parent. We were able to comfort our newborn in the hospital better than the experienced nurses . . . and we had NO prior experience with babies. Definitely a "must watch" for new and experienced parents alike! You'll be glad you did. It's now my go-to gift for baby showers and new parents.
